Eric Cotter

Eric Cotter is a seasoned mortgage industry leader with more than 25 years of experience driving sales performance, operational excellence, and team development. Born and raised in Buffalo, New York, Eric has called Central Florida home for over four decades and brings deep regional insight to his work.

In September 2025, Eric was promoted to Florida Region Operations and Sales Manager at Waterstone Mortgage, where he leads regional growth initiatives, oversees operational strategy, and mentors high-performing mortgage professionals. Before stepping into management, Eric served as a Senior Mortgage Advisor and consistently ranked as a top-producing mortgage originator, earning President’s Club recognition for ten consecutive years — a testament to his expertise in mortgage lending, client service, and relationship building.

Eric’s transition into leadership was driven by his passion for coaching, mentoring, and building scalable, results-driven teams. He is known for fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and performance while aligning sales execution with operational efficiency.

A graduate of Florida State University, Eric holds a Bachelor of Science in Business with a concentration in Risk Management and Insurance, providing a strong foundation for navigating today’s complex mortgage and financial services landscape.

Outside of work, Eric enjoys spending time with his wife, Melissa, and family. He is passionate about fitness, competitive swimming, college football, and great BBQ. A former collegiate swimmer, Eric is an active member of U.S. Masters Swimming (USMS) and continues to train and compete regularly — bringing the same discipline and drive from athletics into his professional leadership.
