Cathy Bishop

Cathy Bishop began learning the mortgage business as a teenager in her family’s mortgage company. Since then, she has worked in nearly every area of mortgage lending, including operations, underwriting, and loan origination. This broad experience gives her a unique understanding of the lending process and helps her anticipate potential challenges before they become obstacles for her clients.

Today, Cathy helps homebuyers and homeowners through Waterstone Mortgage’s nationwide lending platform. She believes the best mortgage experience begins with listening, understanding each client’s goals, and explaining financing options clearly so they can make confident decisions.

Known for her attentive, client-first approach, Cathy works with first-time homebuyers, growing families, repeat buyers, veterans, and real estate investors. Her underwriting background allows her to identify potential issues early and help keep the path to closing as smooth as possible.

With a family history of military service — including her father and grandfather — and as the wife of a veteran, Cathy has a special passion for serving veterans and military families.

Outside of work, Cathy enjoys camping, Jeep adventures, and exploring the outdoors with her husband. She has also spent more than 15 years teaching elementary Sunday School and serving her community.
