Sara Gallardo

Sara Del Cuore is a Kansas City–based mortgage loan originator with nearly a decade of experience and a background rooted in community. A Denver, CO native, she started out as an urban farmer, teaching people to grow food in city settings. That work sparked her passion for helping people build stability through homeownership.

After several years in the industry, Sara stepped away to launch several small businesses, including Ambrosia Harvest. Building ventures from the ground up taught her how neighborhoods actually grow, with one small business, one family, and one building at a time. That understanding brought her back to lending with renewed purpose.

Sara is a member of Strong Towns and the Incremental Development Alliance. She believes financially resilient cities are built through many small, local investments rather than a few large ones. She's especially passionate about helping neighborhood-scale builders and small investors finance the duplexes, fourplexes, and main-street buildings that make communities walkable, affordable, and strong.

Sara listens closely, explains clearly, and keeps each client's long-term vision at the center of the process. She specializes in conventional and government loans (FHA, VA, USDA), as well as new construction, DSCR, bank statement, and asset depletion loans. Through Waterstone Mortgage, she has access to more than 700 loan products to tailor solutions to each borrower.

Her favorite part of the work is showing clients that homeownership may be more attainable than they've been led to believe. Outside of work, Sara and her wife Lisa enjoy gardening, reading, film, live music, supporting local businesses, and exploring their new Kansas City community with their three dogs.
