Every ripple starts with a single stone — and for us, that stone was laid in 2000, in a 350-square-foot office in suburban Milwaukee. Our three-person team shared a belief in the power of homeownership, with one common goal: to help families find their way home.
As the ripples expanded, so did our reach. By 2006, Waterstone Mortgage had grown to 58 employees in two states. At the time, most of our business was made up of purchase transactions — a defining characteristic of our company to this day. That same year, Waterstone Mortgage was sold in 2006 to Wauwatosa Savings Bank (which later changed its name to WaterStone Bank) in an effort to offer more robust loan products and more secure financing for our customers.
While our current Home Office is located in Brookfield, Wisconsin, we now have employees all across the nation.
